Milah Flores’ Priorities
Fighting for the Heart of Texas
I’m an empathetic person who listens first and feels deeply. I’ve walked through hard seasons like so many families in our community. I understand what it means to stretch a paycheck, to comfort a child who doesn’t understand why the grocery cart isn’t as full as it used to be, and to hold on to faith when it feels like the world is falling apart. I’m running for Congress because I believe our leaders should feel what we feel, see what we see, and fight with the same determination we live with every single day.
Putting Families First
Families all across District 17 are working harder than ever, but everything costs more. Groceries, gas, rent, and child care keep climbing while paychecks don’t. Parents shouldn’t have to make impossible choices just to feed their kids or keep the lights on.
I believe in protecting working families, strengthening programs that help parents get ahead, and making sure every child has food on the table and a fair chance to succeed. Feeding our kids isn’t a partisan issue — it’s a moral one, and it’s something we should all be able to agree on.
Government Accountability That Works for the People
Our government should serve the people, not the other way around. Too often, Washington has become a place where political games matter more than real lives. People in District 17 are tired of broken promises, back-room deals, and career politicians who forget who sent them there.
I will fight for transparency and open communication. I believe in publishing where every tax dollar goes, holding regular town halls, and making sure your representative answers directly to you. Accountability isn’t optional — it’s the foundation of trust.
Term Limits and Real Representation
Congress was never meant to be a career. It was meant to be a service. When politicians sit in the same seat for thirty years, they stop hearing the people’s voices and start protecting their own power.
I believe it’s time to bring in new energy and real-world experience. I support term limits because leaders should serve their communities, not themselves.
Restoring Safety and Unity
It feels like our nation is on edge. Families see the strain of an immigration system in crisis, the tension in our cities, and the growing sense that Americans are turning against one another. It shouldn’t feel this way.
We can protect our borders and still protect our values. We can respect law enforcement and military service while restoring compassion and understanding in our communities. Safety and humanity should go hand in hand. I want to bring back leadership that unites us instead of dividing us — leadership that calms the noise and puts people before politics.
Bridging the Gap for Our Future
District 17 is home to people from all walks of life — farmers, teachers, students, veterans, small business owners, and families who believe in community and hard work. I’ve lived those same struggles and celebrated those same small victories. I know that when we listen to one another and stand together, we can fix what’s broken.
My mission is simple: to bridge the gap between parties, between government and the people, and between where we are and where we deserve to be. Because real leadership starts with compassion, courage, and the willingness to serve — not to rule.
I am not running for a title. I am running for the people who have trusted me with their stories and their struggles, for every hardworking family in District 17, and for every child who deserves a tomorrow filled with hope, safety, and opportunity.
